Zion National Park

How much time do you need?

Although Zion National Park seems relatively small in its size, there areso many beautiful trails, and things to do! If you can, we recommend at least 4 to 5 days in order to experience most of Zion’s beauty!

Our favorite hikes:

    • Hiking to the the Lower, Middle, and Upper Emerald pools (2.2 miles, starting at the Zion Lodge and finishing at The Grotto Picnic Area)

    • Many Pools Trail (2.3 miles out-and-back)

    • Canyon Overlook Trail (0.9 miles out-and back)

    • Angels Landing (4.3 miles out-and back; permit required)

    • The Narrows (up to 16 miles; no permit required)

    • Observation Point via East Mesa Trail (7 miles)

    • The Subway via North Fork (10 miles out-and-back; permit, gear, experience as well as diligent preparation required)

When is the best time to visit?

So far, we visited in winter, spring, and summer. Every season has its benefits, and gives Zion its extra charme. While it can definitely be cold and snowy in the winter month, the heat in summer can be brutal.

Coming in late spring and in fall will lead to moderate temperatures, which makes it perfect for long hiking days. However, we also enjoyed our trip in the winter, as this magical place turned into a winter wonderland.

Zion is one of our favorite National Parks and we always love coming back! Everytime, there is something new to see and explore, so we are already exited for our next trip!

If you’re planning to visit and you have any question, please do not hesitate to reach out to us! We would love to hear from you!
